Lännen Tractors secures the largest single order in the company’s modern history – deliveries for demanding NATO Customer

Lännen Tractors Oy, a subsidiary of Summa Defence Plc, has received the largest single order in the company’s modern history for its NATO‑compatible Lännen 8800M‑DF multipurpose machines. The order, valued at EUR 35 million, has been placed by a European NATO country and the deliveries will take place during 2026, 2027, and 2028.

“This is the largest single order in Lännen Tractors’ modern history. It strengthens both the competitiveness of our products and our position within the European defence industry. We are extremely proud to deliver these machines for demanding NATO use.” – Veli Ollila, CEO, Lännen Tractors Oy

Comprehensive delivery scope

The delivery includes not only the multipurpose machines but also extensive spare parts packages and a commitment to provide commissioning and maintenance training for the customer’s personnel.

Scaling up production – strengthening capacity

Lännen Tractors began preparing for a significant increase in production volumes as early as November 2025 with measures that were already underway. Located in Loimaa, Southwest Finland, the nearly two-hectare factory, equipped with modern machinery, offers an excellent framework for increasing capacity. Production processes have been developed in recent months as a separate project to meet the needs of growing demand in the defense industry.

Lännen 8800MDF receives NATOcompatible product code

The Lännen 8800M‑DF multipurpose machine has been assigned a NATO Stock Number (NSN 2420-58-002-2440), expanding its accessibility within NATO procurement systems. With the support of Summa Defence, the company has activated its presence in European markets where no equivalent machine with similar performance exists.

Key machine capabilities:

– excellent off‑road mobility

– high transfer speed

– full remote control of all machine functions

– wide and rapidly interchangeable attachment portfolio

These features make the machine particularly effective for combat engineer operations, such as obstacle clearance, construction, obstacle emplacement, and field infrastructure maintenance.

Dual-use products form the foundation of Summa Defence’s strategy

Summa Defence was founded in 2025 and began its public trading on the Nasdaq First North Growth market in June 2025. The core ideology behind Summa Defence’s founding is to bring together entrepreneur-driven small and medium-sized enterprises with growth potential in comprehensive security and defense technology solutions, particularly dual-use products. In line with Summa Defence’s strategy, the Lännen 8800M-DF represents such dual-use products, which have a strong foothold in the maintenance of society’s critical infrastructure and have also been further developed for defense use.

“This significant order received by Lännen Tractors is based on Summa Defence’s ‘Together We Are Stronger’ philosophy. As a publicly traded company, Summa Defence provides its subsidiaries with the credibility and resources to compete for even larger public projects. Lännen’s excellent and proven dual-use technologies gain new momentum in the market through such significant deals,” says Timo Huttunen, CEO of Summa Defence.
